What Your Venus Sign Can Teach You About Love

If you’ve been unlucky in love lately, maybe it’s time to blame the stars. We’re not talking about sun signs. In fact, we want to remind you not to let your sun sign be the end-all/be-all when it comes to relationships. Your Venus sign is actually a lot more relevant in that department. Even if bae's sun sign is not necessarily compatible with your sun sign, your Venus signs can make up for that. Perhaps the last few relationships you’ve been in, your partner has not been compatible with your Venus sign. For example, if a Venus in Aries person dates a Venus in Aquarius person, it will likely end in D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R. At first, a Venus in Aries person’s directness and boldness will excite the Venus in Aquarius (plenty of us enjoy being chased, after all). But eventually, the Venus in Aquarius partner will start to feel suffocated, while the Venus in Aries will feel neglected and unloved. This is why you NEED to know your Venus Sign. Seriously, this is what we should be asking potential dates and partners. Sun signs are so yesterday. Here’s a primer on how your Venus sign dictates your love life. Use this knowledge and go forth into the dating world armed with confidence. Venus in Aries If your Venus is in Aries, you are bold and direct and often the one to make the first move. You are a confident dater who’s not shy about approaching someone you find attractive and starting a conversation. You also handle rejection pretty well, because you know there are plenty of fish in the sea for you to swim after anyway. Venus in Aries people crave spontaneity, passion, and energy. They are natural flirts and many others are drawn to their confidence. Your Best Matches: Venus in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Scorpio, or Libra Venus in Taurus If your Venus is in Taurus, you are a hopeless romantic. You love love for what it represents, and you never lose your hope in it. Unlike a Venus in Aries, you’re not the type to chase at all. Instead, others naturally gravitate toward you because of your grace, sensuality, and approachable nature. You’re also a very loyal person, but on the flip side, you can also be a little jealous and possessive. Your Best Matches: Venus in Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo, Libra, or Scorpio Venus in Gemini For a Venus in Gemini, it’s all about freedom. They hate to be tied down, which can become a point of contention in a monogamous, serious relationship. Venus in Gemini people also love variety. They are motivated by whatever is new and fresh, because their natural curiosity draws them to that. On the other hand, they are exciting, loving, and adventurous partners that are worth the wait. Your Best Matches: Venus in Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, Virgo, or Sagittarius Venus in Cancer If your Venus is in Cancer, you most likely crave loyalty and security and a relationship that feels like home. You’re not going to be happy in any kind of frivolous or low-commitment situation. You need it ALL: strong commitment, beautiful romance, lots of PDA, words of affirmation, etc. You simply do not want to waste time in a relationship that doesn’t serve you what you crave, and you KNOW that you deserve all those things. Here’s your sign to never settle. Your Best Matches: Venus in Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, or Capricorn Venus in Leo Love is everything to someone with a Venus in Leo. They are fans of grand gestures, hyper romantic situations, and lots of affection. As is typical with Leos, they love to be the center of attention, but also to make their partners the center of attention! There won’t be any dull moments with a Venus in Leo person, who will always make sure you’re both pampered and living your best (love) life. Your Best Matches: Venus in Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, or Aquarius Venus in Virgo Venus in Virgo people will generally not make the first move, as they are very cautious and reserved (in the beginning). They like to take things slow and learn all the details about their partner. As you know, Virgos are generally known for being perfectionists, and that’s also true for a Venus in Virgo person. This can sometimes lead to friction, but, in essence, someone with Venus in Virgo is a very steadfast, practical, and considerate partner. Your Best Matches: Venus in Pisces, Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, or Gemini Venus in Libra Venus in Libra people have a tendency to idealize love. They can be very romantic and need to achieve balance in all aspects of their relationship. A Venus in Libra partner will uphold fairness above all things, so don’t expect to give or take more than you receive. This Venus sign also appreciates beauty and pleasing aesthetics, which can sometimes make them view their relationship through rose-colored glasses. A romance with a Venus in Libra sign has the potential to be very dreamy. Your Best Matches: Venus in Gemini, Aquarius, Libra, Taurus, or Aries Venus in Scorpio Venus in Scorpio people are intense, but you probably already guessed that! Scorpio is known for its intensity and deeply passionate nature. It makes sense that someone with Venus in Scorpio would be the same way. With this type of partner, you can expect a lot of emotion and passion that keeps you on your toes. Venus in Scorpio people can also be rather possessive or jealous. No matter what, you'll always have excitement in your life if you date someone with their Venus in Scorpio. Your Best Matches: Venus in Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer, or Capricorn Venus in Sagittarius It's not always easy to get a Venus in Sagittarius to commit. They love freedom, but they also love to be close to their partner. It can be a bit of a contradiction to be with a Venus in Sagittarius. To make a relationship with a Venus in Sagittarius stick, you would actually need to

How To Cleanse Your Brain Of Your Ex

If there’s anyone who lives rent-free in our minds very frequently, it’s our exes. Who can relate? EVERYONE. We all have that one ex who just refuses to leave our head space. They linger like an unwanted houseguest, eating all your food (aka positive energy) and leaving behind a big ole mess (tears, negative thoughts, turmoil). The only way forward is by doing a deep clean of your brain. Let’s explore what that means!   Throw A Party   Pity party or real party? Why not both? First, you can throw yourself a little pity party, which can involve copious amounts of tears and ice cream and maybe screaming into a pillow. We support it. Then, you can throw a real party with your friends, in which you have an unabashed (maybe even wild) celebration of the end of the relationship. You’ve heard of divorce parties, right? Similar sentiment here. If you reframe the end of the relationship as a celebratory event rather than one to mourn, it can help you move on.   Out Of Bed, Out Of Head   Do not jump back into bed with your ex, as tempting as it may be. First of all, you’re not going to keep them just through sex (even if it is mindblowing). Secondly, it’ll make it that much harder to move on. Make the vibrator or your hand your friend after the breakup! Trust us.   Write It Out   Journaling can be so therapeutic. Take this opportunity to write down all your feelings, fears, longings, and whatever else comes to mind about your ex and your time with them. Seeing it written down on paper can give you a perspective shift. Maybe you can even make a list of all the times they hurt you or made you feel less than. Seeing it all laid out in front of you can help jolt you out of your obsessive thoughts.   Focus On You   Were you the type to always do things with your ex? Maybe you two were inseparable and now being on your own is depressing and hard. Well, it’s time to start a project, babe. Focusing on something that you have to do on your own can be very healing. You could start an art project, redecorate your space completely, take a class that will further your career ambitions. The sky’s the limit! Pro Tip: Choose something that will take up a lot of your time. A short project might not be enough to fully get your mind off your ex.   Indulge A Little   Breakups and toxic relationships can drain your energy. So it will be helpful to do something reviving and re-energizing. Spa days immediately come to mind. Book yourself a massage followed by a mani/pedi sesh or a facial. But don’t stop there. Do whatever makes you feel rejuvenated. Maybe that’s being in nature, going on a shopping spree, hanging out with your besties. You know yourself best, so make sure you give yourself what you need.   Accept And Let Go   Easier said than done, honey! But not impossible. The evolved side of you knows that you have to accept that the relationship is over. The less evolved side is holding onto the relationship for dear life. The two have to battle it out, and hopefully the evolved side emerges victorious. Sometimes, acceptance doesn’t come because we subconsciously resist it. Understanding this resistance will actually help you achieve acceptance. You just have to be open to it.
